About us

The moment one approaches the shop of Frides Lameris Kunst en Antiekhandel the window immediately catches the eye: only a few items are shown subtily lit, with in the background vitrines with brilliant glasses, porcelain and earthenware.

It's clear the shop specialises in the arts of fire.

The collection is despite this focus and specialisation very versatile. The Roman glass with it's soft colours differs so much from the clear 16th and 17th century Venetian and Facon de Venise glass with it's elegant forms or sparkling shine of the eighteenth century engraved ceremonial goblets. Furthermore one finds Asian porcelain from the 16th and 17th century and earthenware and tiles from Delft, Spain and Italy. Another area of expertise is the collection of objets d'art, from small boxes with mother of pearl and miniature portaits to a large engraved mirror a fenominal frame.

About us

The antiques shop, a true family business, was founded by Frides Laméris and Trudy Laméris in 1963 at the Prinsengracht 801. In 1964 the business moved to it's current location on the Nieuwe Spiegelstraat 55.

Now the company is run by their three children Kitty, Anna and Willem Laméris, in the shop since 1993, 1994 and 2003. Trudy Laméris is often in the shop and still advises her children in the business.

Frides Laméris passed away in 2003. Trudy and Frides were experts in the area's of glass and porcelain in the AVRO-television show "Tussen Kunst en Kitsch" (between art and kitch). Since 2006 Both Kitty and Anna joined the show.
