Haarlem

Ceremonial goblet with a toast to the city of Haarlem.

On the rounded funnel bowl the crowned coat of arms of the city of Haarlem. The coat of arms is held by two lions. Underneath this in a banderol the motto of Haarlem:

VICTUM VIM VIRTUS

(Latin for: courage defeated the violence)

English glass with Dutch engraving.

First quarter eigtheenth century.

Height: 18,7 cm
